An Interview With Cozmoo, Who Is A Dog
PopCraft's least useful and most enthusiastic tester sits down — on the keyboard — to discuss sprites, snacks and the creative process.
PopCraft is made by one person and one dog. The person does the WebGPU. The dog does everything else, by which I mean sleeping. This is the dog.
Cozmoo needs no introduction, mainly because he cannot read introductions.
Woof.
Thanks for joining me. How did you first discover PopCraft?
Woof woof. (He then lay on the keyboard, which opened the Pixel Studio. I'm counting that as a demo.)
What does your creative process look like?
Iterative. He stares at the screen, sighs deeply, and waits for his human to draw a 16×16 sprite of him. Then he approves it with a single tail wag, which is, I'm told, the highest rating he gives.
Any favorite features?
Mistakenly believes it involves onions. Remains interested.
Tried to catch one on the monitor. Was unsuccessful. Tried again.
His running animation is six frames long and took an afternoon. He does not know this.
What's next for you?
A nap, and then, reportedly, a second nap.
