The bin and media

Scenes from the page, imported video, stills and audio: into the sequence by drag, double-click, + or the right-click menu.

The bin is the panel left of the timeline (the panel button at the far left of the timeline header shows or hides it). It lists the page's frames as Scenes, each with its length and in sequence if it is already used.

Description

The AI trailer with the bin open on the left, listing the page’s frames as scenes. The Together scene is dragged from the bin onto V3 at about eight seconds, where it lands as a layer over the shots. The bin’s + adds a scene to the end of V1 instead.

  1. Drag a scene from the bin onto a track. On V1 it goes in between the scenes where you drop it; on V2 and up it lands at that time as a layer. Hold Alt as you drop to insert, pushing later clips right.
  2. Or click its + (or double-click it) to add it to the end of V1.
  3. Right-click a scene for Add to the end of the sequence, Place on V2 at the playhead and Insert on V2 at the playhead (push later clips).

Video, stills and audio

  1. Click Import video or stills (the upload button at the top of the bin) and pick files, or drop them on the bin or straight onto a track.
  2. Each video or still becomes a frame of its own, sized like the sequence, and lands on V2 at the playhead. A still lasts 3 seconds; a video its full length. Its frame also shows in the bin, so you can reuse it.
  3. Click Import audio (the note) for music, voice or effects, or drop sound files on an audio track. They land on A1 at the playhead (or on the track you dropped on). MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus and FLAC all work.

Every file goes into the file's media, so it travels with the .popcraft file and syncs to collaborators.

Generated media

  • Video: AI → Generate video… makes a clip from a prompt and puts it on the canvas in a frame: it shows up in the bin as a scene. See Generating video.
  • Music and sound: Generate in Animate's audio, or ask the agent, adds an AI-generated track. See Audio.

The PopCraft AI trailer template was made this way: its shots with Seedance and its music with Stable Audio, cut in Edit.
