Your first animation in 2 minutes

From a still design to something that moves: switch to Animate, add a preset to two layers, play it.

You don't need to know about keyframes to make something move. A preset is a ready-made entrance (or exit, or emphasis) that PopCraft writes as ordinary keyframes for you, and you can pull it apart later.

Your first animation: a preset on each layer, then play · 0:09
Description

A launch post is open in the editor. Animate is picked in the top bar. The headline is selected and the Rise preset applied from the timeline’s + menu, then the Launch badge gets Pop the same way. Home goes back to the start and Space plays: the badge pops and the headline rises into place.

Do it

  1. Open a design. Any file works. The recording uses the Launch social post from the template gallery (New → File → Social).
  2. Click Animate in the top bar. The timeline opens along the bottom. It belongs to the frame you're looking at, and it says Select a layer… until you pick something.
  3. Select the headline on the canvas.
  4. Click + in the timeline's transport bar, and pick Rise on the Entrance tab. The headline gets a fade and a rise that ends where it already sits, so the design doesn't move. You see its keys appear on the timeline.
  5. Select the badge, open + again and pick Pop.
  6. Press Home, then Space. The badge pops and the headline rises into place. Press Space again to stop.

That's an animation. It lives in the file with the design, and it plays in present mode, in the prototype and in any export.

Make it yours

  • Change the timing. Right after you apply a preset, its settings stay open under the tiles: Dur (duration), Delay, the curve and the distance. Change one and the preset updates in place.
  • Move it in time. Drag the layer's bar on the timeline to make it start later, or drag an end to trim it.
  • Apply it to several layers at once. Select them all first: they stagger, each starting a little after the one before.
  • Go further. Twirl a layer open on the timeline to see the keys the preset made, and edit them like any others: Keys and the timeline.
