History
Every edit of this session as a list: click one to go back to just after it, or forward again.
The History tab on the right sidebar's rail lists every edit you have made since opening the file, oldest first, newest last, each with its name: Add edit at playhead, Delete clips, Effects, Captions…
Description
The AI trailer in Edit. Three edits are made: the KA-POW shot is cut at the playhead twice and a piece of it deleted. The History tab lists them, newest last; clicking the first goes back to just after it, the later two dimmed, and clicking the last brings them back.
- Click a step to go back to just after it: every later step is undone and shown dimmed.
- Click a dimmed step to bring the steps up to it back.
- Opened, at the top, goes all the way back to how the file opened.
- Making a new edit after going back drops the dimmed steps, as undo does.
It is the same history ⌘Z and ⌘⇧Z step through, one step at a time. In a file others are editing live, undo steps through your own changes only, so the list is not shown there: use ⌘Z and ⌘⇧Z.
