Migrating from Microsoft Publisher
PopCraft covers the core desktop-publishing surface Publisher users expect: page presets (cards, flyers, brochures), master pages, threaded text, mail / data merge, bleed and crop marks on PDF, tables, photo frames, guides, and print preflight.
Import .pub files
- Install the Publisher Import plugin from the marketplace (
import-export). It is optional and not shipped with the app. - Use any of:
- File → Import as new file… (create-gated like New File)
- File → Import into this file…
- Home / file browser New → Import… or drop a
.pubon the listing (always creates a new file)
- Conversion is best effort via libmspub. Complex documents may need a PDF round-trip (export PDF from Publisher, then Import PDF).
There is no .pub export.
Description
A launch post in the editor. ⋯ → Import as new file… opens the file picker and a PDF (PopCraft’s brand guide) is picked; it opens as a new file with its pages, text and pictures as layers — the PDF round-trip for a document Publisher itself exported.
Headers and footers
Use Masters in the Pages panel. H / F add header or footer text (with {{page}} for folios) on the current master. Optional first / left / right masters are supported via page print metadata.
Text wrap around objects
Right-click an image or shape → Wrap text around. Overlapping text boxes flow around the object’s bounding box (AABB). Contour wrap is not supported yet.
