Description

The AI trailer in Edit on a phone-sized screen. The timeline sits under the monitor with tabs for the Timeline, the Bin, the Clip inspector and the Mixer. A shot is tapped and the Clip tab shows its settings; the Bin tab lists the scenes; the Mixer shows the faders.

On a narrow screen Edit stacks: the program monitor on top, then the timeline panel, whose header has two rows. The first holds the sequence picker, the transport and Export; the second the tabs and, on the timeline, the tools.

  1. Tap a clip to pick it; drag it with a finger to move it, or drag its edges to trim.
  2. Tap Clip to see its settings (the tab shows how many clips are picked).
  3. Tap Bin for the scenes and the import buttons. A finger can't drag from the bin, so tap a scene's + to add it to the end of V1; hold it for Place on V2 at the playhead and Insert on V2 at the playhead.
  4. Tap Mixer for the faders, and Timeline to go back.

Track headers keep the switch used most (the eye on video, the speaker on audio); press and hold a header for lock, solo, rename, add and delete. Press and hold a clip for its menu. Drag the bar above the panel to give the timeline more room. On a tablet in landscape the bin and the inspector sit beside the timeline, as on a computer.
