Procreate brushes

Import .brush and .brushset files.

Brushes you already own come across. In the brush library, hit Import and pick:

  • .brush — a single Procreate brush
  • .brushset — a whole set, imported as a group
  • .json — a PopCraft brush, as exported from here

Description

A comic page in Draw mode with the brush library open. Import takes a .brushset, Inking Kit, and its three brushes come in as a group in the library. One is picked and a stroke is drawn with it.

PopCraft reads the Procreate brush's shape and grain textures and maps its settings onto its own engine: spacing, jitter, scatter, size and opacity curves, pressure and tilt response, and the blending behaviour of wet brushes.

What doesn't

The two engines are not the same, so an import is a faithful translation rather than a byte-perfect copy. Expect to nudge size and opacity on a brush you use a lot. Procreate settings with no equivalent here are dropped rather than approximated.

Where they live

Imported brushes are saved to your brush library, not the file's, so they follow you into every document on that device. Sign in and they follow your account.

Share them as a brush pack

Signed in, Publish at the top of the brush library shares brushes you made or imported on the marketplace as a brush pack: tick the ones that go in, name the pack, and describe and tag it. The shop icon beside a group's name starts with just that group ticked. Brushes from a pack you installed are someone else's and can't go into yours. Publishing the same pack name again updates the listing, also after you rename the pack.

My packs lists the brush packs you've published. List or unlist each one, rename it, open its marketplace page, or delete it. Deleting takes a pack off the marketplace; copies people already installed keep working. Shaders have the same Publish and My packs.
